Mannavan Shola Forest
Trekking through the verdant forest of Kanthalloor is one of the activities that gives the backpackers their dose of adrenaline rush. The walk through the forest may not be very adventurous and arduous but it is definitely satisfying to hike enjoying the coolness of the shola forest and listening to the rhythmic chirping of the birds. The forest trekking trail mainly lies in the Anamudi National Shola Park and the awesome forest stretch is known as the Mannavan Shola. One has to enter the thick forest through the backyard of the forest office.
Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary
Visiting the Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary for experiencing the wildlife safari is another best thing to do here. Thoovanam Waterfalls
Thoovanam Falls trekking is a guided tour of around 3 hours. The 4 km long trail to the waterfalls begins at Alampetty check post. During the trek, you get to enjoy the serene environment of the forest and witness the animals and birds there.
